Life under sail

For eight days we live on a Bali 5.4 catamaran, with a spacious saloon, a sun deck and an experienced captain who knows the lagoons of Polynesia inside out.
Every day brings a new island: the coral gardens of Taha'a, the volcanic peaks of Bora Bora, the sacred valley of Raiatea and the beaches of Huahine.
Ten days, and you will live the legend of Moana for real, not on a screen.
From a rum distillery on Taha'a to a hidden temple on Raiatea: these contrasts give the archipelago its character.

A catamaran, a helicopter and a cook on board

We arrange the flights between the islands, the transfers and the whole route: all you have to do is enjoy the ocean.
On board are the captain and a cook who makes breakfast, lunch and dinner right on the boat.
A helicopter flight with a landing on an uninhabited island is one of the highlights of the route, and it is part of the programme.

Ori Tahiti by the fire

Ori Tahiti is the language of Polynesia: flowing arm movements portray the ocean, quick steps the rhythm of island life, and the drums set the pulse of the whole dance.
On the beach at Huahine, a barbecue and dancing under a starry sky: time seems to stand still, and you find yourself inside the world of Moana.
Fire, music and the island's stories of volcanoes, the sea and the spirits of nature, told not in words but in movement.

Day by day

Day 1
Arrival in Tahiti
Papeete – a hotel by the ocean
You land in Tahiti, where you are met and taken to the Hilton by the ocean. The day is yours to rest after the long flight. In the evening there is a welcome dinner by the water, and it is one not to miss: this is where the group gets to know each other to the sound of the surf.
A catamaran in a bay
Day 2
Raiatea – Taha'a
A short flight and the first catamaran passage
A short flight to Raiatea, then boarding the catamaran at the marina. While everyone settles into their cabins, the provisions are loaded on board. The first passage takes you to Taha'a, inside the reef the two islands share, with no ocean swell.
Bora Bora's mountain seen from the water
Day 3
Taha'a – Bora Bora
The Coral Garden and an ocean crossing
In the morning, the Coral Garden off Taha'a: in a mask and fins, you drift with the current over living coral. Then an open-ocean crossing to Bora Bora, two to four hours under sail. By evening, the island's famous mountain rises up ahead.

Day 4
Bora Bora from above
A helicopter flight over a heart-shaped atoll
The catamaran is moored off the Bora Bora Yacht Club. In two smaller groups, everyone flies by helicopter to Tupai, the heart-shaped atoll. At sunset, quad bikes along mountain trails; in the evening, dinner at a restaurant on the shore.
Snorkelling with stingrays and sharks
Day 5
Stingrays and sharks
Snorkelling in the Bora Bora lagoon
Snorkelling in the lagoon: stingrays swim right up to you, reef sharks glide past and the water is clear all the way to the bottom. Afterwards the catamaran sails past the hotels with their overwater bungalows. For many people, this is the very day they come to Polynesia for.

Day 6
Huahine
Sailing to the quietest island
The passage to Huahine, often called the most peaceful island in the archipelago. Beaches, jungle and villages free of tourist bustle. In the evening, a torchlit Ori Tahiti dance show.
A sea turtle
Day 7
A day on Huahine
Jet skis and the beach
Jet skis in two groups: around the island and into hidden lagoons. Then the beach, a swim and some downtime on board. The cook prepares dinner, and you watch the sunset right from the deck.
The jungle and cliffs of Raiatea
Day 8
Back to Raiatea
The last evening on board
The final passage takes you back to Raiatea, the sacred island of Polynesia. An evening on board: dinner, music and conversations nobody wants to end. Few places on earth show you the stars like this.
Overwater bungalows
Day 9
Tahiti
A flight and a rest at the hotel
In the morning you leave the catamaran and fly to Tahiti. A quiet day at the hotel by the ocean after a week on the water. Lunch and dinner today are up to you.
Frangipani flowers
Day 10
Heading home
An early start for the airport
The flight home leaves early in the morning, so the airport transfer sets off while it is still dark. Ten days, five islands and a week on a catamaran. For a long time to come, that turquoise water will look edited, even in your own photos.
